Every care will be taken to provide a complete and accurate description of the goods or services as listed on the customer enquiry form. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure they are satisfied with the contents of this description at the time the order is placed.
Minor variations from an agreed design may occur during the manufacture of your order due to the requirements of securely constructing your cake(s), or due to artistic interpretation of the agreed description. If these are significant however, Batch 17 Bakes will contact you to discuss these.
Please note that any material or photographs supplied by the customer or discussed during our consultations are for general illustration only and, whilst every care will be taken to incorporate these details, the final product may vary from the material supplied. For example, every effort will be made to replicate specific colours, however, final colours of the supplied goods may contain slight variance from photographs, pictures or other materials supplied by the customer.
The Customer is responsible for confirming that any photographs, pictures or materials provided by them to Batch 17 Bakes will not infringe the rights (e.g. Copyright) of any third party.
We will not be able to recreate any Copyrighted image or character without the Copyright holders permission.
Alterations to any order may be made by the customer up to four weeks before delivery. For Celebration Cakes/Cupcakes, alterations may be made up to two weeks before delivery .
Any changes that require additional items/time spent from the original quote will be charged for at an additional cost, to be detailed by Batch 17 Bakes in a quote amendment at the time the change request is made. This may be payable immediately depending on when Batch 17 Bakes are notified.
If you are considering fresh flowers for your wedding cake, we will be happy to liaise with your florist as required. The customer is responsible for ensuring Batch 17 Bakes are given the correct contact details in this case.
If you wish your florist to add the flowers to the cake(s) after Batch 17 Bakes have delivered, Batch 17 Bakes cannot be held liable for any damage or contamination that may occur to the cake(s) during this process.
Important note: Please be aware that some flowers are not suitable as a decoration for wedding cakes, due to toxins or moisture damaging the cake icing. The customer is responsible for checking with their florist that any flowers to be used for cake decoration are safe to use .
By acceptance of a quote and confirming an order, the customer entitles Batch 17 Bakes to use photographs of the cake(s) for purposes associated with all activities relating to Batch 17 Bakes, including marketing and use on promotional material.
The finished cake(s) remain under the ownership of Batch 17 Bakes until the point of delivery acceptance by the customer (or their designated delivery representative) at which time, ownership transfers to the customer. Despite this transfer of ownership of the goods themselves, the design rights of the cake(s) will not be transferred to the customer, and will remain with Batch 17 Bakes.
All of our cakes are manufactured in an environment where dairy, wheat flour, eggs, nuts and nut- based products are in use.
We are currently only able to cater for limited special dietary requirements (for example, gluten- free diets), however, the customer should be aware that even these products will be manufactured in an environment where the allergen ingredients are in use. Whilst all reasonable endeavours will be made to ensure no cross contamination occurs, we cannot guarantee that the final product will be 100% free of possible contamination from these ingredients.
Food Labelling Regulations 1996 - Customers are advised that some of the cakes sold by Batch 17 Bakes may contain one, or more, of the following types of additives: Antioxidants Flavour Enhancers Sweeteners Colours Flavourings Preservatives
Batch 17 Bakes cannot be held responsible for the quality of cake(s) if they are not stored in the manner advised by us after delivery or collection.
Specific storage details will be listed on the delivery paperwork for each order but as a general rule, cakes should be stored in a cool, dry environment, and should be kept out of humid or hot conditions. Cakes should not be stored in a refrigerator, as this can affect the quality of the cake, the icing and of the decoration.
Where possible, we endeavour to make all decoration edible. However, in some circumstances, support structures and decorations are required that are not edible. These items and their locations within the structure of the cake will be advised to the customer on the delivery paperwork, however, where the customer/designated delivery representative intends to pass the cake(s) on to another party, it is the receiving parties responsibility to advise them of the items which are not edible.
Prices listed on our quotes are valid for 30 days from the original quotation date. If a quotation has not been accepted within this period, a revision of the quotation may be required.
Full deposit and payment schedule information (amounts and dates), will be listed on your quote.
Please note – we can only reserve your delivery date for 2 weeks after a quote has been issued. After this time the date will be released, and although we will make every effort to meet the customer’s requirements, we cannot guarantee a delivery date will still be available after this period.
Your order and delivery date will only be confirmed with Batch 17 Bakes once a deposit/full payment has been received by Batch 17 Bakes as per your quote details.
Deposits and Payments
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the full cost is required at the time any order is confirmed. Full payment is required four weeks before you’re your delivery date for wedding cakes, and two weeks before delivery for celebration cakes/cupcakes. These dates will be listed on your quote.
For last minute orders (orders placed within 2 weeks of delivery date), full payment is required at the time of booking.
In the event of non-payment in accordance with the agreed payment terms, Batch 17 Bakes will be unable to proceed with completing a delivery, and will hold no further liabilities. Deposits will not be returned in this case.
By confirming acceptance of a supplied quote in writing (email/letter), the customer confirms that they understand the terms and conditions listed herein.
For orders in excess of £100 that are cancelled by the customer more than four weeks before the delivery date, a balance of monies will be refunded to the customer, excluding the non-refundable deposit and the cost of any items that have been specifically purchased for your order by this time.
If the customer cancels within four weeks of the delivery date, 100% of the full quote price will be payable by the customer immediately.
For orders totalling less than £100, the same cancellation policy applies but the customer may cancel within two weeks of the delivery date. After this, the full price remains payable immediately.
Batch 17 Bakes shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any of its obligations if the delay or failure should result from events or circumstances outside its reasonable control. This includes but is not limited to, acts of God, extreme weather, strikes, lock- outs, accidents, serious illness, war, fire, or failure of any communications. Please note, however, we will in all cases make every endeavour to meet your order requirements where possible, including referring your order to an alternate recommended company if possible.
Delivery arrangements will be agreed at the time of confirming your order.
Deliveries within a 20 mile radius of our main premises will be free of charge. Outside of 20 miles, delivery will be subject to an additional delivery cost, which will be listed on your quote.
Any delivery restrictions must be advised to Batch 17 Bakes at the time of order. Any delivery restrictions or changes advised after confirming your order, may be subject to additional costs which will be payable within 2 weeks after the delivery.
If there are any specific security clearances required for Batch 17 Bakes to be able to deliver, responsibility for making such arrangements will remain with the customer.
Batch 17 Bakes are unable to accept responsibility for not being able to deliver due to being refused access to a venue. Every effort will be made to make alternative delivery arrangements, however, this may be subject to additional costs, which will be payable within 2 weeks of the delivery.
Prior to the delivery date, Batch 17 Bakes will require details of a designated person – either a representative of the customer or of the venue – to sign an acceptance of delivery and condition document if the customer themselves will not be present at delivery. Once the goods have been delivered by us or collected and signed for, Batch 17 Bakes cannot be held responsible for any interference or damage to the cake(s).
Delivery costs for wedding cakes are inclusive of us setting up the cake at your venue. Should the venue be unable to make the facilities available to allow the cake to be set up at the time of delivery, we will leave instructions with the venue as to how to correctly set up the cake(s) and this will be detailed within the acceptance of delivery documentation. If these instructions are not followed correctly, Batch 17 Bakes cannot be held liable for any damage or degradation of the cake(s).
Where a display table is being provided by the customer/venue, they are responsible for ensuring the structural suitability of the table to support the goods. Large wedding cakes can be very heavy, and the tables must be strong enough and level to be able to support them safely. Special consideration should be given for events where a table may be placed on soft ground e.g. outdoors.
We will advise at the time of delivery if the proposed location for the cake to be stored/displayed is unsuitable. Such instruction will be recorded within the acceptance of delivery documentation. If the customer or venue then chooses to proceed with setting up the goods in an unsuitable location, Batch 17 Bakes cannot be held responsible for damage or degradation of the cake(s).
Where extreme circumstances beyond our control prevent Batch 17 Bakes from delivering, we cannot be held responsible or liable for any additional costs.
Complaints and Refunds
In the unlikely event of an issue with your order, please contact Batch 17 Bakes within 24 hours of your delivery, with full details of the problem, including photographs where possible.
Please note that all edible goods are non-returnable even if unopened.
Exchanges or refunds will only be given under special circumstances, which will be at the discretion of Batch 17 Bakes.
